It may sound too good to be true, but Well +Good reports that performing high intensity interval training (HIIT) can curb your appetite, eventually increasing your chances for weight loss.

People can have love-hate relationships with HIIT programs: they burn enormous amounts of calories, torch your fat, and push your body to its limit. HIIT routines can span from four (yes, four) to 45 minutes—they're basically non-stop workouts that consist of intense exercise drills.

In a study conducted in the Universtity of Western Australia, they discovered that HIIT curbs cravings and appetite because the production of the hunger-stimulating hormone, ghrelin, is restrained. Plus, the levels of blood lactate and blood glucose are increased, again causing the appetite to be suppressed.

In a study with overweight men as the subjects, one team performed HIIT exercises, while the other engaged in moderate fitness routines. The result? Team HIIT ate less than the second team!

What do you think? Are you up for HIIT's challenge?
