Nuts have often been shunned by weight watchers who believe that the calories and fat they contain may ruin their diets, but this doesn’t seem to be the case, according to the Huffington Post. In fact, those who incorporate nuts in their diets may be more likely to lose weight.
A review of 31 studies published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition shows that people who replace other foods with nuts lost an average of 1.4 pounds and trimmed their waistlines by around half an inch.
However, weight loss isn’t the only benefit that your favorite pulutan. Studies have shown that nuts rich in alpha-linolenic acid such as walnuts are good for stress reduction. Almonds, which are rich in vitamin E and B, may reportedly boost your immune system. Pistachios, on the other hand, are said to lower your risk of lung cancer.
