KC Concepcion
takes her fitness routine very, very seriously. While her toned physique made her worthy of being the first-ever cover girl of Women’s Health, it’s definitely her passionate attitude toward staying in shape that convinced the magazine’s team to get her for their cover once again, this time for their October 2013 issue.

FN got a chance to chat with KC about her current fitness regimen during her cover shoot, where she revealed that she’s juggling five different workouts. In addition to taking Yoga, Plana FORMA, and Zumba classes, she’s also training for Kali (“A Filipino martial art that’s used in 300 and the Bourne series”) and is working toward a certificate for Krav Maga, which her Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala co-star Judy Ann Santos got her into. She’s got her hands full with her exercise routine, and she’s enjoying every sweaty second of it. Read on to discover how she motivates herself to work out!

1. DON’T SETTLE.
“I’ve snapped out of the whole indifferent, ‘pwede na 'yan (that will do)’ attitude. I got so tired of it, I just wanted to really make a change. I’m not there yet, you know, I still have at least a few more months to go to really get to the point where I want to be. But it’s the motivation of like, what I don’t want to look like, and what I do want to look like.

2. IT’S NEVER TOO LATE TO START WORKING OUT.
“I really didn’t grow up knowing much about fitness except for the sports we did in school. The whole fitness thing came around when I was in my 20s, like now.”

3. KNOW WHAT WORKS FOR YOU.
“I’m learning to choose the workouts that work for me, not just because everybody is into it means it’s going to work for you, because your body has its own rhythm. We all have different personalities, so you have to get a good balance with the workouts that you do."

4. EAT SMART.
“I’m learning how to fuel up to get me ready for my workouts.”
