Cheers for those who love to fry their food! New Beauty reports that a study published in the journal Food Chemistry discovered that deep-frying vegetables in extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) provides health benefits.

The results certainly debunk some food myths that are anti-oil frying. According to the study, frying in EVOO produces antioxidant phenol compounds in the veggies, making the body stronger in fighting diseases like cancer, diabetes, and macular degeneration.

The vegetables tested were those of the deep, colorful type—veggies that are mainly present in the health expert-approved, Mediterranean diet: tomatoes, eggplants, potatoes, and pumpkins. So, if you're looking to live a healthier lifestyle, you don't need to eat bland, boiled, and steamed food all your life. Live a little and have a dose of healthy fat in your life!
