Teenagers can be very impulsive at their age. While this is quite natural, it may sometimes lead to serious trouble. The good news is proper breathing exercises may help control such behavior in teens, according to a report from The Huffington Post.

Researchers from the University of California, Los Angeles, worked with 524 students between ages 14 and 18 and required them to go through a four-week program that taught them healthy mind-and-body management and yoga-based breathing techniques. A questionnaire on impulsiveness was given before and after the program.

The results revealed that students who learned how to do breathing exercises felt less impulsive as compared with 264 teens in the control group.

Feeling a bit impulsive yourself? Try doing yoga-based breathing exercises on your own. This way, you’ll get to think clearer, more logically, and with more regard to your action’s consequences.
