From neck lines to dull skin, every woman encounters these normal effects of aging, and yes, celebs included! If you're curious to know how they keep their skin looking fresh and healthy, here are some of the most heplful beauty tips we've learned from them:
1. Never neglect your neck.
Your neck is a delicate part of your body that reveals the early signs of aging. “It’s the first one to go,” Heart Evangelista mentioned in one of her makeup tutorials. “I like putting [moisturizer] on my neck before anything else and just on my chin. I do this early in the morning but I like doing it again [later during the day]. I mean it's added prevention, added protection. You’re aging every second of the day,”
2. Always listen to your skin.
"Just because [a beauty product] is uso, it doesn't mean that you should be using it. It’s always good to listen to your body. Be mindful of the products that you use and listen to your skin. If your skin is telling you na 'okay with this product, I get pimples' then [stop using it],” advised Jodi Sta. Maria during a recent beauty event.
The same goes for popular diets, such as Intermittent Fasting, Keto diet, etc. Karylle warned that “diet trends can be dangerous when we don’t really study it or get checked by the doctor. Each body is different and although one diet may work for someone, it doesn’t necessarily mean it will work for you.”
3. Less is more.
In an interview with Female Network on her beauty tips for busy, 30-something Pinays, Anne Curtis shared "Sometimes you know what, you don’t need all that much makeup, lipstick is enough."
4. A proper skincare routine doesn't end with beauty products.
"Kailangan drink lots of water, eat healthy—I just want to share this story. Nagkaroon ako ng fat deposit kasi there was a time na panay oily ‘yong kinakain ko. So lumabas siya sa skin ko, sabi ko, ‘Ah totoo pala na kailangan mo ring alagaan ‘yong mga kinakain mo, ‘yong mga pinapasok mo sa body mo kasi lumamabas din siya sa katawan," Jennylyn Mercado said during one of her chats with FN.
5. Getting that “glow” means covering less.
For a fresh makeup, Solenn swears by using tinted moisturizers (a.k.a. moisturisers that come with a light tint) instead of foundation. “It just makes my [complexion] even but doesn’t cover up my freckles,” explains Solenn Heussaff in one of her Youtube tutorials.
Likewise, Heart Evangelista also noted in one of her makeup tutorials that she applies foundation only on the center of her face. "[Even if] I do have melasma and little spots [on my cheek area], [doing this] makes the look natural. It still makes you look very real and not too made up."
"A woman who is happy with herself is beautiful no matter what age, size, shape, color she is. Compassion for oneself and others is the key to happiness!" said Iza Calzado.
