Actress and TV host Kris Aquino announced last Friday that she would be canceling her Twitter account to preserve "what is left" of her family's privacy, reports this PEP.ph article.Using her official account itsmekrisaquino, the star tweeted (verbatim), "Stress & long hours led to a big misunderstanding. I have never lied to all of u until now hindi pa completely na-fi-fix. That's y I've just chosen to keep quiet since it's something very private." Regarding the issue that has not yet been "fixed," Kris is referring to the rumored marital problems between her and husband James Yap.
The latest tweet from Kris read, "I received this tweet several days ago--bakit hindi niyo minemention si james sa mga tweet niyo, only josh & baby james? I replied to it w/ honesty. My attention was called by Noy [her brother, president-elect Noynoy Aquino] about this. So in the interest of keeping what is left of our privacy... I will suspend being active on twitter."
Kris, who has been known to speak before she thinks (remember that whole debacle over her leaving the country if Noynoy won the elections?) is also resigning from her entertainment shows SNN and The Buzz. Canceling her Twitter account, which may open both her and her family to intrigue, seems to be a logical move for the star.
Kris tweeted, "Sometimes being quiet (obviously difficult for me) is the only prudent course when u r the sister of the country's president-elect. Thanks to all who followed my tweets."
We know you've probably got your own Twitter and Facebook accounts, which is perfectly fine when you're a civilian. But when you're a public figure, should you be more discerning with what you share on your social networking sites?
