Kris Aquino has long been known to speak before she thinks, particularly when it comes to family issues. In an interview following the issue with Ruffa Guttierez in March that caused Ruffa's mother Annabelle Rama to tell people not to vote for Kris' brother Noynoy, Kris told TV Patrol World,
“Sinabi ko nga kay Noy, ‘O Noy kung makakasira ako sa’yo in case presidente ka na dahil baka naman pati sa Malacañang week after week may issue dahil sa’kin, don’t worry, mag-a-abroad ako at magtatrabaho sa TFC office abroad.’ At ang sabi sa’kin ni Noy, ‘Pinagpapraktisan mo ba ako ng teleserye mo? Nag-di-dinner lang tayo ha.”
(“On a last note, I promised Noy that if he does win and I’m a cause of stress for him and his presidency, I’ll gladly take my two boys and live anywhere there is TFC so that I can continue my work but with our overseas Filipino brothers and sisters.”)
Now that Noynoy is leading the presidential polls, the public has been quick to call Kris on her bluff. A new Facebook group called Kris Aquino's Despedida is reminding Kris of her “promise.” The group, which already has more than 5,000 members, notes, “Congrats to our new President Noynoy Aquino! :) And since Noy won, I have a feeling Kris IS NOT leaving the country... Paano na yung promise niya?”
While most people are joining the group in good fun, many detractors of the presidential sibling are raising issues of integrity and taking this opportunity to push Kris into exile. We'd like to know:
