Pop princess Sarah Geronimo admitted she's still wary of relationships at the November 19 press conference for her upcoming movie, Won't Last A Day Without You, PEP.ph reports. Sarah was candid about her past experience in love--a messy affair that involved Rayver Cruz and Cristine Reyes--and declared she wasn't ready for another romance just yet.
"Naniniwala naman po ako na darating 'yan sa tamang panahon (I believe that [love] will come at the right time)," she is quoted as saying. "Pinagdadasal ko naman po 'yan. (I do pray for that.)"
She also hopes that her next boyfriend will be someone she'll be with long-term. "Ayaw ko kasi 'yong palit nang palit; masakit 'yan sa dibdib. Siyempre, ang gusto natin, kung sino ang magiging boyfriend natin, 'yon na 'yong pakakasalan natin. (I don't like changing partners over and over again; it only brings heartache. Of course, what we want is to have the men we choose to be our boyfriends to eventually be the men we marry.)"
As for the characteristics of the person she wants to fall in love with, Sarah says she's looking for someone who'll fight for her. "Hindi 'yong ako lang, akong babae lang ang naglalaban ng relasyon. Kailangan patunayan ko muna sa sarili ko na, 'Ay, itong taong ito ay haharapin ang mga magulang ko, kaya akong ipaglaban talaga. Mahal ko talaga ang taong ito, hindi lang dahil nagkaka-text kami.' Kailangan ko lang po maging maingat, 'yon po siguro ang natutunan ko. (I don't want the person fighting for our relationship to just be me. I have to prove to myself that, 'Ah, this person will face my parents, he can really fight for me. I really love this person and not just because we text often.' I just need to be careful, that's what I learned.)"
For now, Sarah is happy appreciating movie co-actor Gerald Anderson's warm personality on the set, and, more importantly, she's focusing on improving her acting skills. "Totoo pala ang sinasabi nila na nakakatulong ang experiences in real life, nakakatulong sa 'yo as an actor (It really is true when they say that experiences in real life help you as an actor)," she is quoted as saying on PEP.ph.
