People pray for different reasons, but a new study featured on ScienceDaily.com reports that another may be added to the list. Apparently, prayer may also have a powerful effect on relationships.

A group of experts led by Nathanial Lambert from Brigham Young University worked with undergraduate college students to see how prayer affects the interaction between partners in a romantic relationship.

The results showed that sincere prayer can indeed soften edges especially after an argument. Participants who regularly prayed for their partners reported being less resentful and hurtful even after their special someone had upset them. They also felt more cooperative during discussions about relationship issues. On the other hand, those whom the participants prayed for found their partners more forgiving.

So if you and your partner are experiencing hard times in your relationship, the answer to it may be as simple as quieting your mind and heart and praying. At the very least, it may give you a whole new perspective about love and companionship.
