One thing that women know a lot about (besides shoes, bags, and makeup) is how to de-stress. Not to say that we’re all experts on the matter, but having learned through observation early on (thanks to our mothers, grandmothers, aunts, and sisters), most of us know enough to be able to dispense dependable advice.
At GIRLTalk, the subject of de-stressing is quite popular for active users and lurkers alike. Below are some de-stressing suggestions from our dear members:
If I have time, I go running! I did this during my first heartbreak! To be fair, I lost between 5-10 lbs [during] that 1-2 month mourning period! :p
Nagbabasa ako ng inpirational books and articles online, window-shopping at meet ko friends ko, and have a good laugh with them.
When I am really stressed, which is rarely—thank God—I ask for a time out. Kahit isang oras lang. Magkukulong lang ako sa kwarto. After that, I will try to talk about it or try to deal with it in the most madiplomasyang way.
(Pramis, mas ma-kikay ako pag stressed ako kasi painting my nails de-stresses me. Naaayos ko kilay ko. LOLs. Home spa pa ang drama ko minsan. Eto naman eh, magandang dulot pag stressed ako.)
Do something for others: volunteer work, church work, civic work.
I talk to my hubby, play with my kids, and I play with my iPad.
Go shopping kahit window-shopping lang.
