This Mother’s Day, take your mom out for a much-deserved date. Treat her like a queen, lavish her with presents, and tell her how much you love her in your own way. Our suggestion? Do something healthy together. Below are some of the activities you and your mom could do to make the day more productive.
1. Start the day with a few exercises.
Get your mom to come up with the playlist of her choice (no buts!). Spend 30 to 45 minutes jogging around the park, playing basketball, or doing warm-up exercises. Motivate each other every time someone looks on the verge of giving up. The light exercise, the vitamin D, and the wonderful company all make for a wonderful morning.
2. Prepare a healthy breakfast.
You and your mom will probably feel famished after your jog. Stay the healthy course by having Yummy’s homemade granola or brown rice and apple salad. Take the opportunity to ask her about any healthy family recipes that she can share with you.
3. Try reflexology.
Leave the Swedish and the Shiatsu for another day, and go for a reflexology treatment. It’s a healing method that manipulates specific points on your feet to address any health conditions you might have.
4. Drop by the doctor's office for a quick checkup.
The line at the doctor’s office may be long, but that only gives you a chance to bond even more. Besides, it’s important that you know how your mom’s health is doing just as it’s important for her to know yours.
