In a recent survey conducted by US pollster Gallup about the emotion levels of different countries, the Philippines ranked 151st out of 151 countries surveyed, making it the most emotional country in the world.

The survey, which was published in an article on the Bloomberg Business Week, determined if a country’s citizens felt one of the given range of emotions recently. The survey revealed that 60 percent of the respondents from the Philippines said yes. On the other end of the scale, Singapore ranked as the most emotionless society, with only 36 percent of its people experiencing some feelings within the given period.

According to the National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB), Filipino women have a happiness index (the NSCB defines it as "a measure of happiness, which is combined with conventional economic indicators to come up with a more multidimensional measure of the progress of a society") of 62.8 percent. The survey revealed that the top three sources for happiness for Filipinas are "family, health, and religion and/or spiritual work."
