Noynoy-Aquino-article_1.jpgUnder former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s “holiday economics law,” next Monday, August 23, should have been a holiday. Republic Act 9492 allowed non-religious holidays to be moved the Monday directly after in an effort to boost local tourism during the long weekends; and since the death anniversary of Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino falls on August 21, Saturday, most Pinoys assumed that the holiday economics law would apply.
