While effortless beauty is much talked about, beauty queen and actress Ruffa Gutierrez disagrees. In a recent interview with PEP.ph, she said, "Sorry, we don't just wake up like this!"
"You know [we] really have to exert the extra effort to make ourselves look young, fresh, and youthful looking," she added.
In the same interview, she revealed that to look great (at 42!), you must take care of your body from within.
Ruffa takes glutathione and collagen supplements to keep her skin bright and supple. "I take glutathione, I take two capsules a day so kahit anong klaseng travel ko, kahit anong beach ko, I never get really dark because I take glutathione, which is also very healthy to the skin." She also explains why she takes collagen, "Collagen, especially for working mom like me who's over thirty years old, talagang not saying real age...importante lang talaga na we should stock up on collagen."
The mom of two also manages to squeeze in a workout whenever she can and watches what she eats. Also, Ruffa makes sure that she drinks eight to ten glasses of water a day even if she isn't working out.
She lets her skin breathe by never being too tamad to remove her makeup before going to bed. That said, she then pleads women to follow her tip, "Sa mga mahilig magpuyat diyaan, please, six to eight hours, at kailangan, sa gabi matulog."
