While there are products and professional dental methods that can whiten our teeth, going the natural path is more easier, safer, and more affordable. Below, we share the methods you can try to naturally brighten your pearly whites.
Oil-pulling or using natural oils as a mouthwash can rid the mouth of oral disease-causing bacteria. In the morning, swish a tablespoon of coconut oil in your mouth for 20 minutes and spit it out. Doing this regularly will naturally lighten the color of your teeth, as coconut oil contains lauric acid that can break down plaque—the culprit that produces a yellowish tint on our teeth. If sloshing oil for 20 minutes straight is too much for you, try doing it for five minutes first and gradually increase the time as the days progress.
Baking soda and lemon juice
Mix the two tablesppons of baking soda and a a tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice until it turns into a paste. Using a cotton ball or a soft-bristled toothbrish, gently scrub the paste on the teeth and leave for no more than one minute. Do this twice a week the most only, as the acidic nature of this mixture can be too harsh.
