In YES! Magazine's 12th anniversary issue, actress-TV host KC Concepcion opened the doors to her new condominium unit in Serendra, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, and revealed everything from her home office to her DVD library to her walk-in closet. The star, who bought and had the place furnished herself, just moved in in December 2011.

The place bore no traces of ex-boyfriend Piolo Pascual's gifts--a TV and a queen-sized bed--which Piolo had bought for her new home. Even his letters to her have been stowed away somewhere else. "I come home and I'm like, 'Ha, yah, I'm a new person.' There's no trace of him whatsoever or my past or what," she told YES!.

While KC still stayed mum about the reason she and Piolo broke up, she opened up about the aftermath and the lessons it has taught her in a separate feature for YES! in the same issue. KC ruled out personality clashes and neglect as triggers for the breakup. "There's a limit to which I'm gonna accept criticism, but I have to fight for what I think is right. And, honestly, at this point, personally--even in my personal life--I don't wanna think about what happened anymore," she said.

Among the things the star did talk about was her emotional breakdown in August 2011: at a get-together with her barkada at a friend's house, she stayed in the bathroom for two hours until one of them found her just lying in the bathtub. It was at this point that KC realized her relationship with actor Piolo Pascual was beyond repair. "Wala na talaga akong masabihan," she said of her emotional state. "Hindi ko alam kung saan ako mag-uumpisa. (I didn't have anyone to talk to. I didn't know where to start.)"

Now, months later, KC is stronger and ready to move on--and her new home is where she's making a fresh start. "Honestly, it also gave me the creative juices to create a place like this. I wouldn't have had this need to create such a calming, peaceful positive place kung hindi rin do'n sa mga negative na pinagdaanan ko."
