kc_concepcion.jpgKC Concepcion has gone a long way from just being known as Megastar Sharon Cuneta’s beautiful daughter. The recent years have seen her branching out as an actress, improving her hosting skills, and singing her heart out on stage. Through all of these, KC remains socially aware through her role as an ambassador for the United Nations World Food Programme (UNFP). Just recently, she left for Uganda to fulfill her UNFP duties.

With such accomplishments and experiences under her belt, KC has grown a lot as a person over the years. Read on to see what tidbits of wisdom you can learn from this young actress.

1.    BE A TEAM PLAYER.

KC doesn’t think of herself as a person of influence. Instead, she focuses on participating in work as a team and bringing out the best in all her teammates. “I never see myself as someone who spearheads. I feel like I’m part of a big, big team, and I feel like I’m just one of them and that works well for me.”

2.    BE INSPIRED AND LEARN TO INSPIRE OTHERS.

In KC’s case, she gets inspired by the people around her. “I get so much energy from people. That’s the kind of person I am, though sometimes it works against me because people expect to feed off me,” she explains. “I like being around people who have all these ideas in their heads, who aren’t too calculated about things.”

3.    DO WHAT YOU LOVE.

Don’t let others stop you from achieving your dreams. If you really want to try something, go for it. Success will follow if you love what you’re doing. KC shares how eager she was to jump into acting because she’s wanted to try it all her life. “I know that if I didn’t do any of this stuff, I’d end up blaming somebody else or will be frustrated when I’m old and gray, thinking I wasted my youth.”

4.    KEEP AN OPEN MIND.

Avoid making generalizations and using stereotypes. KC, for example, said her days in Paris helped her develop a better sense of understanding when it comes to other people. “I’ve just been lucky enough to see different countries and meet different people, and that helped me to stop judging people so much and boxing people in certain categories.”

5. ALWAYS BE GRATEFUL.

Learn to appreciate the blessings you have and work on a way to give back. “Up to this day, I still wonder: what did I do to deserve all these things I am doing now?” she says. “[Doing my U.N. work] is just my way of giving back. I still see it that way—that with every good thing that comes in my life, I am humbled.”
