Actors Dianne Medina and Rodjun Cruz are inching closer to their festive big day, happening on December 21, 2019, at the Minor Basilica and Metropolitan Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. But as how it goes with every nuptial, this can be the most hectic time. "I'm so excited," Dianne tells Female Network through an email interview. "But at the same time, I'm stressed out since we still have a lot of things that we need to fix."
The TV actress-host revealed that she'll be working up until a few days before her wedding.
Aside from acting and hosting on TV, the GMA-7 actress also hosts for various corporate events.
When asked for her piece of advice when it comes to juggling wedding planning and work (especially for Pinays with a full-time job), Dianne says: "It's all about time management. I always make sure that I have my checklist with me just so I don't forget anything. [I jot everything down from the] most to the least important tasks so I can track everything."
The bride-to-be enjoys the wedding preparations, though, as she says completing the tasks together—whether it's finalizing the program or shooting their prenup—doubles as dates with Rodjun. "This is the only time when we get to bond and spend more quality time together since we’re both super busy with work."
So far, the most challenging part of the wedding planning is "finalizing the guest list and seating arrangements, as well as [getting the guests to] RSVP," shares Dianne. "I swear I thought it was easy, but I’ve come to realize that this was the hardest part. And sometimes [guests] won’t reply, which makes it more even harder for us to complete the guest list."
Rodjun and Dianne are holding the reception at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila.
On her destination prenup shoot in Turkey
Earlier this month, the soon-to-weds shared their prenup shoot at Cappadocia, Turkey on their Instagram accounts.
Why did they choose Turkey?
"We're all after the scenic view of Cappadoccia's hot air balloons. I'm also glad that we shot our prenup there because it was so easy to move around. Walang tao talaga kaya masarap mag shoot because you can really play around with different locations."
Her favorite moment? "Shooting against all the hot air balloons was my favorite. It was so surreal—I can’t put into words just how beautiful Cappadocia is.
"Another unforgettable moment during the prenup shoot was when Rodjun and I became very emotional because we both remembered our moms who are now both in heaven—most especially for Rodjun who just lost his mom last February."
On how to make a relationship last
Dianne and Rodjun have been a couple for over a decade now. The actor proposed to Dianne last October 10 on his 30th birthday while they were in Boracay.
For couples who hope to make their relationship last, Dianne gives a meaningful bit of love advice: "We’ve been together for 12 years now, and we’ve been through a lot. In any challenge [that we face], we always make sure that communication is key. We talk about it. We make sure that breaking up is not our solution. We make sure that we fix it."
She admits, "Staying this long in a relationship really is no joke—especially because we're both in showbiz. So given our situation, I have to be more understanding, patient, and open-minded.
"If magkamali 'yong partner mo, always think before you decide on anything. Sa amin kasi mas matimbang 'yong masasayang memories namin together compared to the bad ones. I love him more than his mistakes."
