Actress Angel Locsin was excited as she talked about Unofficially Yours, her upcoming Valentine's Day movie, at a press conference on February 1, PEP.ph reports. The story, which centers around a couple engaged in a no-strings-attached sexual relationship, was something new for Angel, and she admitted that her "wild" character was a challenge for her to play. The film derives its title from the fact that Angel's character and her love interest, played by John Lloyd Cruz, aren't officially together.
In real life, Angel said her relationship with Azkals player Phil Younghusband was "unofficial" too. "Walang labels. Walang anniversary, walang monthsary," she is quoted as saying on PEP.ph. "Pero may improvement naman, di ba? Kita naman. Kasi almost one year na rin kaming nagdi-date. (But there are improvements in our relationship, right? You can see them now because we've already been dating for almost a year.)"
She said the two of them were doing fine and would eventually take the next step and make their relationship official, but right now, neither of them were emotionally ready. "Mas maganda siguro kung pumasok sa relasyon na reding-ready ka na at kaya mo nang ibigay ang lahat mo, di ba, para lang mapaligaya ang taong mahal mo. (I think it's better to get into a relationship when you're really ready and you're capable of giving it your all to make your partner happy.)"
In the meantime, the two are enjoying their "unofficial" relationship. Angel said Phil had no insecurities about her daring scenes with John Lloyd in the movie. "[Phil's] excited. Yung poster namin, inilagay niya sa kotse niya. Ako nga, yung kotse ko walang poster, pero siya meron! (He put our movie poster on his car. My car doesn't even have a poster, but his has one!)"
