Actress Angel Locsin laughed as she talked about Azkals player Phil Younghusband's now famous "goal dance" at her press conference for beauty brand Mosbeau, PEP.ph reports. Angel and Phil are currently exclusively dating. Phil performed a special dance after Philippine football team Azkals made a goal against India at the 2012 Asian Football Confederation Challenge Cup.
Angel admitted that she herself taught Phil the steps to the dance he did during the game. "Sabi ko kasi, 'Ano ba 'yan kayong mga lalaki, kapag naka-goal kayo, body bumping, apir-apir. Tigilan n'yo na nga 'yan. Paulit-ulit na lang. Sumayaw ka!' E, nagdyo-joke lang naman ako. (I said, 'When you guys make a goal, you do body bumps and high-fives. Stop doing that! You always do those things. This time, dance!' But I was just joking.)"
Angel demonstrated steps similar to those for "Rock the Boat" for him. "E, hindi niya nagawa. May sariling version naman siya (He wasn't able to do it. He made his own version of it)," she is quoted as saying.
In a previous interview for ABS-CBN, Phil revealed the dance was dedicated to Angel and his younger sister, Kerry.
"Hindi ko alam kung para ano (I don't know why he dedicated it to me)," Angel said. "Sabi ko kasi, 'Uy, kapag naka-goal ka, mag-dance ka, ha.' Actually, hindi ko nga alam na gagawin niya talaga. E, ginawa niya. Ako na yata ang may kasalanan. Kung anu-ano na ang tinuturo ko! (I just said, 'When you make a goal, dance, okay?' Actually, I didn't know he would actually do it. And he did. I think it's all my fault. I taught him such random things!)"
Angel added that she had told Phil there was no need to repeat the dance performance in the future since he'd already done it, but Phil said it helped him make more goals.
