PEP.ph reports that Ai-Ai delas Alas has faced her estranged husband Jed Salang in court on June 19 for the hearing of the civil case she filed against him last May.

The former couple had split in May after being married for only around a month when Ai-Ai suddenly revealed the gravity of the physical violence Jed had inflicted on her.

The two had arrived and left Quezon City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 94 separately, and both refused to give any comments to the media after the closed-door proceeding. Ai-Ai was also reported to have been accompanied by members of the Presidential Security Group, with three military men acting as backup.

The civil case tackled Jed’s violation of Republic act 9262 or the Anti-Violence against Women and Their Children Act. In addition to this, Ai-Ai has also requested for a Temporary and Permanent Protection Order against him.
