Love Story
Rica and Mark met as college orgmates at the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU). Since Rica had a boyfriend then, the two only saw each other as really good friends.
Later on, however, the two started seeing each other in a different light as they both took an alternative class program: a diving course in Anilao. There, the two bonded, and that trip sparked the beginning of their romantic relationship.
Nine years into the relationship, Mark decided to pop the question to Rica. He felt that Anilao--where everything began for them--was the perfect place for his proposal. Mark took Rica diving and thought of popping the question while they were underwater.
When they reached the reef called Cathedral, which featured a relic crucifix, Mark held a whiteboard which bore the question "Will you marry me?" Rica was in shock and freaking out when she saw the board and didn't quite know how to say yes. So, she just signaled the OK gesture and got surprised that Mark brought out the ring underwater and slipped it on her hand. While she felt happy and thankful, Rica was wary that the ring might slip off so she closed her fist as tight as she can until they reached the shore.

Rica and Mark tied the knot with a travel-themed affair. The couple wanted to keep things simple and modern, so they did away with too much frills, and instead concentrated on giving their guests a fun-filled celebration.
The couple made sure that there was no lull moment throughout their wedding--they provided guests with a sumptuous feast to keep their appetites satisfied, and a photobooth to foster a fun atmosphere. To allow guests to learn more about them, Rica and Mark laced their reception décor with DIY details, which included trivia cards about them.
Through the course of their planning, the couple learned that it is important to know what one wants for one wedding. "At the onset, discuss and agree with your fiancé the budget, priorities, theme, and type of wedding you want as every decision will be anchored on these basic details. [Doing so] well help you decide faster on which suppliers to get, and what things are to be done," the bride shares. The couple also asserts that it is important for marrying couples to attend the Discovery Weekend Seminar. "This is to help you determine if you are marrying for the right reasons, and to open up the communication between the couple. This is also critical in helping the couple plan for the marriage, which is much more important than the wedding," the couple asserts.
