No doubt about it: Bea Alonzo is super happy these days, and she has certainly moved on from that ghosting issue. She's marking her 20th year in the industry (she entered showbiz at only 13 years old) and has recently reached one million subscribers on YouTube! In an exclusive interview with Summit Media journalists, Bea talked about her upcoming film with Alden Richards, her advocacies, and, of course, Valentine's Day.
Recalling her experience in 2019, Bea said it was the first time she had been ghosted but that the experience taught her sooo much. And for women who have recently gone through the same thing, here's what Bea has to say:
"Move on, girl. His loss! Ang mahirap doon, hindi ka nabigyan ng chance to know what's wrong. And you blame yourself, right? I want to tell [you] not to blame yourself anymore. Kung hindi ka binigyan ng respect to end the relationship, that means na it's good riddance. Kasi ibig sabihin hindi ka niya nirerespeto, and in the long run baka mas malala pa yung nangyari. So pick up the pieces and move on."
What's her advice for women who are have met Valentine's day with a broken heart? "Lilipas lang yung Valentine's, I'm not even thinking about it that much," Bea shares. "I mean, buy yourself flowers, if you want to. Just make yourself feel special, you don't need anybody else to make you feel special. Treat yourself...Or baka ako ang magpadala ng flowers sa friend ko na brokenhearted."
She adds: "There was a time that I bought myself flowers for Valentine's Day, I'm not even kidding. Just to make myself feel special. I bought myself flowers, kasi ayoko na mag-expect na may magpapadala sa akin ng flowers. And I felt happy! You cannot expect people to do things for you, but you can do things for yourself."
Bea currently has three movies lined up, and she will be starring opposite John Lloyd Cruz in one of them. Her upcoming film with Alden, A Moment To Remember, is a remake of a popular Korean film.
