Whether or not we are aware of it, a distinctive hairstyle can often make a movie character memorable. When, for instance, the name of a film's heroine slips your mind, instant recall often comes with a description of her hair--as in, "the girl with the bob," or simply, "the redhead."
And then there's the fact that certain characters (and the actresses playing them) become fashion icons for their choice of coif--Audrey Hepburn's pixie cut in Roman Holiday spurred a hair-volution among the long-locked ladies of the early '50s, while Farrah Fawcett's flipped and feathered mop on Charlie's Angels remained her signature look even off the small screen.
To illustrate our point, we've compiled a gallery of iconic movie 'dos that have stood the test of celluloid time. Check it out--and tell us whose unforgettable haircut we may have missed!
