The holiday season is special to Filipinos for many reasons: It's a time to take a break from the daily grind and celebrate with friends and family-oh, and also, it's usually the only time of year we get a break from the seemingly eternal heat of Metro Manila. Well, it looks like it's finally time for the much—awaited sweater weather! The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration has announced the start of the Northeast Monsoon, a.k.a. Amihan, is expected to bring in colder temperatures.
"Surges of cold temperatures may also be expected in the coming days to months," said Vicente Malano, the administrator of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in a report by Inquirer.net.
The colder temperatures mark the changing of the seasons, with the end of the Southwest Monsoon, a.k.a. Habagat, and the start of the cooler Amihan. More than just cooler temps though, you can also expect longer nights thanks to the autumnal equinox. Better bring out your planners as well; Christmas is coming faster than expected!
