Want to pursue meditation but don't have a lot of time or patience for it every day? Try laughing instead. According to a study featured on Prevention.com, laughter may be just as beneficial as a meditation session.

“Joyful laughter immediately produces the same brain wave frequencies experienced by people in a true meditative state,” explains Lee Berk, lead researcher of the study and associate professor of pathology and human anatomy at Loma Linda University.

Based on the results, researchers conclude that laughing enables you to think more clearly as well as allows you to concentrate more. The good news is, the more you laugh, the more these perks manifest. So the next time you see a link to a funny video on your Facebook feed, click on it! At the very least, it can take your mind off work stress and make you smile.
