There are a lot of ways to de-stress. But the easiest, most convenient thing to do to keep calm and carry on? Laugh! Even science backs this up. Dr. Lee Berk, an associate professor at Loma Linda University in California says that laughter triggers the production of feel-good chemicals like dopamine, which have all kinds of calming, anti-anxiety benefits.

Studies also show that laughter, in addition to having stress relieving effects, can help you to feel uplifted or fulfilled, and also lets the body release chemicals that act as natural painkillers.

Although more definitive research on the health benefits of laughter need to be made, it is said that people with a good sense of humor and a positive attitude in life are better off. So when you’re feeling down or overwhelmed with the work week ahead, look for something funny to watch or go out and spend time with your friends to slash stress in an instant!
