If you want to lose weight, it may be better to pick oatmeal over ready-to-eat cereal in the morning, as Science Daily reports that the milk-saturated oats may help improve appetite control more.

Researchers served 48 volunteers either of the two for breakfast for two consecutive days, and they found that those who had oatmeal felt fuller and perceived themselves to be less hungry than those who had cereal. Researchers explain that this may be due to the fact that oatmeal has a more satiating form of fiber.

So if you wish to remain full until lunch, have oatmeal for breakfast. Aside from its weight loss benefits, eating oatmeal may also be good for your heart.
