Want to go green but not sure where to start? ECHOstore, a concept store dedicated to providing tools for a sustainable lifestyle, is hosting ECHOteach, a series of sessions that deal with how to create a better world by starting with the self. Launched in partnership with Fully Booked, the ECHOteach Inner Change, Outer Action sessions will be held at the Fully Booked flagship store in Bonifacio High Street.
The series kicked off with “Green Entrepreneur” Chit Juan talking about the small outward steps we can all take that lead to positive changes towards sustainable living. Her session, “Sustainable Living 101,” was held at the U-View theater on the Basement Level of Fully Booked Saturday, August 22, at 4:00PM. Ms. Juan’s main points were aimed at easing her audience into going green:
- All of us can start adopting a sustainable lifestyle slowly just by changing some of our usual habits;
- We can start at home, in the office, and in our community; and
- Everyone can start living in a more eco-friendly way—today.
Both speakers are living examples of the principles they preach, actively promoting environmentally-conscious companies and eco-friendly products through ECHOstore, which they set up with a third partner, Reena Francisco. ECHOstore (the “ECHO” is an acronym for Environment and Community Hope Organization) sells products that highlight their ideals of health, fair trade, and care for the environment (and are proudly Filipino-made as well). The partners share their experience by working with companies, indigenous communities, and individuals around the country, allowing them to encourage livelihood development while bringing the best products to today’s socially-conscious consumers.
