Here's some interesting information for diabetics and those with high blood sugar: according to Science Daily, consuming certain kinds of whole fruits may lower the risk of type 2 diabetes.

Researchers from Harvard School of Public Health looked at the total fruit consumption of 187,382 individuals from three previous studies, 12,198 of whom developed diabetes during the course of the study. Based on their findings, participants who consumed at least two servings of blueberries, grapes, and apples a week lowered their type 2 diabetes risk by 23 percent. However, those who had one or two servings of fruit juice a day increased their risk by 21 percent. This may be due to the high gylcemic index of fruit juice, which passes through the digestive system faster than whole fruits.

If you're a fan of fruit juice, try swapping them for eating whole fruits. Doing so won't only reduce your diabetes risk by seven percent.
