1Guess what, FNites? Indulging yourself with a good laugh can actually do wonders for your health! According an article posted on Prevention.com, laughter can enable us to pull the mind into a meditative state.

Lee Bark, lead study author and professor of human pathology and anatomy, and his team gathered 31 students, who were asked to watch funny, disturbing, and spiritual videos. When the students were engulfed in funny video clips, their brains produced gamma waves that were similar to the waves produced when one gets into the state of meditation. Alpha waves, which signify rest, were released when they watched spiritual videos, and when they viewed worrisome clips, their brain generated flat waves—like the ones produced when one feels alone and helpless.

This research validates the state of peace, contentment, and happiness we get when we giggle. So dear FNite, live a little and laugh more because it’s actually good for you!
