We make a clever comment to hide our bruised egos and silently promise to be more alert. After all, the last thing we would want to do is to make a big deal of our carelessness or clumsiness. Right?

Wrong. While we may feel fine immediately after tripping and hitting any part of our bodies, we can't be sure for certain that everything is indeed A-okay. When it comes to these things, it's always better to err on the side of caution. Consulting a doctor or a physician is always your safest bet, but if you can't seek professional advice right away, here are some handy first-aid tips on what to do (and what not to do) in particular situations.
