Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III made headlines recently by naming Boy Abunda on the list of potential members for the presidential cabinet. Now he's considering giving Dingdong Dantes and Ogie Alcasid roles in the new administration as well. Dantes served as the senator's spokesperson to the youth during the campaign period, and Alcasid composed the first jingle used by Aquino's campaign.This GMANews.TV article and video shares that the President-Apparent had thought about offering the two Kapuso stars positions in government related to their advocacies, although he qualified that he had not yet spoken to either man about this possibility.
Aquino explained that the basis for this consideration is his familiarity with their passions--not their public support during the campaign period--saying, "Matagal din naman natin silang nakasama sa kampanya, nalaman natin ang mga advocacy nila, ano yung mga tinutulungan nilang sector, sayang naman kung hindi magtutuloy-tuloy. (We got to spend a lot of time together when we were campaigning, and we got to learn about their advocacies and the sectors they were helping, and it would be a pity if they couldn't continue their work.)"
Should they take a position in the new administration, Dantes and Alcasid will join the long list of stars currently involved in politics, which includes Vilma Santos, Lucy Torres-Gomez, Tito Sotto, and Manny Pacquaio.
