Metro Manila and its nearby provinces should still be prepared for a rainy Tuesday on September 24, as the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reports that the region will be experiencing cloudy skies throughout the day with moderate to heavy rains and thunderstorms.

In an article on Inquirer.net, PAGASA said that Metro Manila residents should expect rainshowers and thunderstorms to occur throughout the week, especially in the afternoons and the evenings. These rains are still caused by the southwest monsoon, which was enhanced by tropical storm “Pabuk,” currently situated over the Pacific Ocean.

Inquirer.net also reported that the monsoon rains had severely battered provinces north of Metro Manila, triggering severe floods and landslides in Central Luzon, particularly in Zambales. Subic and Olongapo City have been placed under a state of calamity after floods that exceeded human height submerged the two towns. At least 16 people have been reported dead in the province.
