Janelle Manahan, Ramgen Revilla's girlfriend, filed her affidavit on Friday, December 2, detailing what happened on the night of Ram's murder and the possible motives behind it, PEP.ph reports. Among her revelations was that Genelyn Magsaysay, Ram's mother, has schizophrenia, which pushed Ram into acting as both the father and mother in their family.
According to WebMD.com, schizophrenia is "a type of mental illness in which a person cannot tell what is real from what is imagined."
Janelle also revealed in her affidavit that Ram was strict with his siblings, even resorting to violence when they disobeyed him. Her legal counsel, Atty. Restituto Mendoza, told PEP.ph, "Some of the brothers and sisters had [been] hit, sinaktan, tinutukan, sinakal ang mga kapatid, which will establish that this is the motive for the siblings to have conspired to kill him."
On December 6, Genelyn refuted Janelle's statement about her alleged schizophrenia in a TV5 report. "I have depression. At yung depression ko po, nag-ugat iyan simula po ng aking pagkabata. (My depression started from when I was young.)"
"Sana makapag-isip-isip ka pa (I hope you'll be able to reflect)," she added as a message for Janelle. "Tingnan mo yung both sides. Huwag mong idiin kami ng aking mga anak. (Look at both sides. Don't just point a finger at me and my children.)"
