Five days after 23-year-old actor-politician Ramgen "Ram" Revilla was shot and stabbed to death in his home in Paranaque, the city police declared the case closed, INQUIRER.net reports.

"We have identified all suspects, and we have also performed inquest proceedings,” Senior Superintendent Billy Beltran, chief of police of Paranaque City, is quoted as saying at a press conference on November 2. "We can say that the case is solved."

The announcement was made in the aftermath of the arrest of Ramon Joseph "RJ" Bautista, 18, Ram's younger brother, which happened on the same day. The police identified seven suspects in total, among them RJ and Ram's 20-year-old sister, Maria Ramona, who is still at large.

The siblings are being investigated for allegedly paying hitmen P200,000 to kill Ram, as witness Ruel Puzon told the police. INQUIRER.net reports that Ruel, who knew the details of the murder plot because he would have been a part of it had he not refused, approached the authorities to relieve his conscience.

According to the police, the feud among the siblings supposedly stemmed from their disdain over the way Ram allocated their monthly allowance.

"Natanggal na natin ang third party, drugs, politics, robbery. And we found out na personal na alitan sa bahay, maybe financial matters can be one of them, pero personal na (We have ruled out third party motives like drugs, politics, and robbery. And we found out that the issue is personal differences in the family, maybe financial matters can be one of them, but personal)," Beltran is quoted as saying in a report on Interakyson.com.

Meanwhile, Sen. Ramon Revilla, Jr., half-sibling to Ram, RJ, and Ramona, asked the police to consider doing another investigation. "We will let the law take its course," he is quoted as saying in a separate Interakyson.com article. "No one is above it. But we appeal to authorities to do the right thing in investigation, and be sure they have the right witnesses."

Genelyn Magsaysay, the three siblings' mother, also appealed to the public and to the police. "Hindi ko po alam kung sino ang may kagagawan nito, kung anong klaseng galit meron sila sa aming mag-iina. Humihingi po ako ng tulong sa lahat ng [taong] makapagbibigay ng patotoo na walang kasalanan ang mga inosenteng anak ko na idinadawit nila sa pagpatay sa anak ko (I don't know who did this, or what they have against our family. I'm asking for people's help to testify that my innocent children, who have been implicated in the murder of my son, did nothing wrong)," she said in a TV interview.

She added that while there might have been differences among the siblings at home, neither RJ nor Ramona were capable of having their own brother murdered. "Di ko sila pinalaki para magpatayan. Di ko sila pinalaki na maging bastos sila. Church kid si Ram Revilla. Church kids mga anak ko. (I did not raise them to kill each other. I did not raise them without morals. Ram Revilla is a church kid. My children are church kids.)"
