The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warns Metro Manila residents to expect more rains until the weekend, especially after heavy rains triggered floods and led to massive traffic jams across the region on June 17.

According to a report on PhilStar.com, the rains are caused by the southwest monsoon, enhanced by Tropical Depression Emong which will continue to move north in the next few days.

Skies are expected to be cloudy in the afternoon with a high possibility of rainshowers and thunderstorms until the evening.

PAGASA weather forecaster Alvin Pura also warns that another low pressure area is expected to form in the western part of the Philippines on Thursday, causing more rains.

However, Filipinos can expect an improvement in the weather by Sunday.
