Hi po. Ask ko lang updated yung vaccine nung baby ko tapos na sya sa rotavirus nya and 1st dose of flu vaccine. he is now 8mos. and almost 2weeks na sya nag tatae sabi nila sa pag iipin lang daw ng bata un. true po ba un? medyo kampante naman ako kasi updated nga sya sa vaccine and sinusunod namin yung schedule. malakas din sya dumede and masigla kaya di din namin madala sa pedia niya dahil sa schedule namin. Misconception ang pagkakaroon ng fever or diarrhea with teething. If it has been going on for about 2 weeks, then it is high time that you visit the pedia. Your pedia is the best person to tell you the reason behind the diarrhea since she is the one who will be able to get a full history and will be able to perform a complete physical examination.
Also, rotavirus vaccine will not prevent all types of diarrhea. It will only protect against diarrhea caused by the rotavirus. There are many other causes of diarrhea: infectious, intolerance, allergies etc so it is not impossible for your child to have diarrhea even if she has completed her rotavirus vaccination.
Please bring your baby back to the pedia.

When my 2month old got her vaccination last week nagkaroon ng lump near dun sa may injection area, I am so worried buti ngayon hindi na namumula at hindi na rin namamaga, namamalat na lang at the same nagfade na ang redness.

Hindi namin nabigyan ng oral rota si baby as per per pedia's advice, optional lang yun tsaka hindi kaya ng budget that time. My daughter was vaccinated twice with prevenor nung below 1 year old sya.

Now that she's turning three, and kulang nya is typhoid (scheduled on July 6), hepa a, and meninggo (nalate kami ng vaccines nya) pero kakatapos lang nya ng annual flu vaccine.

Technically speaking, rotavirus vaccine is not an optional vaccine. It has been part of the Recommended Immunization Schedule of the Philippine Pediatric Society for several years now as an essential vaccine and it is now part of the Expanded Immunization Program of the WHO that is being followed by the local health centers. However, that being said, some pedias treat it as an "optional vaccine" for babies who are exclusively breastfed since breastfeeding confers immunity for rotavirus.

@ doc lelet ask ko lang po, ano po ang difference ng PCV at PPV? Naka-schedule po kasi baby ko for PPV sa 24th month nya, pero naka 3 shots na sya ng PCV13... My baby is 20 months old na now, complete po sya ng lahat ng required and optional vaccines, do you reccommend po ba na magvaccine din sya for meninggococcal and typhoid?

PPV or pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine cannot be recognized by the immune system of a child less than 2 years of age while the PCV is recognizable because of the added adjuvant or conjugate vaccine. PPV contains 23 strains of the pneumococcal bacteria, but has been found to have shorter immunity compared to PCV. It is given to kids 2 years and above with underlying medical conditions such as congenital heart disease, renal diseases, etc.

Hi need help my son has his 3rd 5-1 vaccine last June 21st for 3 consecutive month and we were advice after the last visit that after 2 weeks his going to have this Rota drops? Not sure though if its drop or vaccine forgot to ask her pedia  and also his pedia said after a month from the last vaccine of his 5 in 1 his going to have his Pneumonia Vaccine (July 21) and after a month 6-1 vaccine (Aug 21st). Well really my question is, is it really every month that he needs those vaccine is there any atleast a month rest before the 2nd one?.. Hoping to have a chart for vaccines sched which is 5 in 1 breakdown na... Thanks for your help

Side effects of measles vaccine include fever and measles like rash 1 to 2 weeks after vaccination.
It may be given on the same day as the flu vaccine, as long as there are 2 separate injection sites.

If you are migrating to Canada, then, yes, please have the meningococcal vaccine given since from what I know, meningococcal vaccination is part of the recommended immunization schedule in Canada.
As for the typhoid vaccine, I suggest you have it given if you are staying in metro manila for a while pa since there are a lot of typhoid resistant cases here in metro manila.

For babies 1 year and below, monthly talaga ang check up, with or without a scheduled vaccination. This is to monitor developmental milestones. Please back read since I posted a link to the Philippine Pediatric Society article on vaccination with explanation regarding number of doses for the vaccines.

Doc Lelet, yung booster vaccines for 4yo-up, is it better to schedule them earlier (closer to 4y) or later (closer to 6y)? Thank you!

Depends on the timing and risk of exposure. It would be best to have the 2nd dose of MMR and chickenpox vaccines given before summer where there are a lot of cases of measles and chickenpox infections.
