^we were made to sign that right after the interview. Rules such as no appearance in ads/tv/movies. Also something about the tuition (in case you plan to pull out the student etc). Re the wait list I think the slots for them will depend on whether the passed applicants will continue with their application or if there are current students who will not re-enroll the following AY (current students are required to pay reservation around January). I think at the time my daughter applied they want to get first the exact number of available slots hence they released the results late.

I can relate re the kaba. We had to forego my daughter's slot in AC (cause we decided that it is just too far from where we live). Deadline for AC was January, labas ng results ng Poveda was March. We practically placed all our cards on Poveda so kung hindi siya pumasa back to zero kami with school hunting.

For kinder 2 ba sis hunny how many sections do they have? And how many students in a class. I wanted to ask again nga about hoe many slots are available for kinder 2 but they didn't have the idea pa daw. In your daughter's case ba how many that time?

I think now there are 5 sections.When she was k2 there were 4 only.

Also, then at k1 there were only 30 students per class ata. Then come k2, they add 5 students per sections . Total of 35 students per class. So sure # of slots were 20 for new k2 students. Plus a few slots vacated by the boy students (there are boys in k1, mostly kids of employees) and those who transfers to other schools.

I'm not sure how many students are there now in k2, but last year there were 35. Same number as this year's

My daughter also passed her exam in Poveda, but medyo nagulat ako kase we need to pay agad the reservation fee of P10k by Oct.25. Will attend the orientation on Oct.16 then decide. Sis SnowySofia, Kinder2 din daughter ko by then.

Kaya nga sis wanda sobra aga nila manghingi ng res fee. Anyway I have some other options [textspeak!] na school kze if ever  hindi ako makakuha ng afternoon class for my daughter in poveda kahit nakapasa siya sa exams I wouldn't pursue it.. kawawa kasi siya kung early morning ang class although she's already awake at 6 am heavy traffic naman ang worry ko sa edsa
 Pagod na siya stressed out na before pa mkarating ng school ayoko pa naman na ma lalate siya. Kaya I am hoping na makakuha ako ng afternoon class for her or kahit hindi sobrang hapon mga 11 am ang start ok na din wag lang 7:30 to 10 am. How long kaya ang orientation on oct.16?

AM and PM sessions. According to Mrs Mojica, new students are usually placed in the PM session. I requested kasi if my daughter can be placed in AM session since she's an early riser. They give priority daw for AM session for old students and for those who have sisters in other batches. I can't remember when did they release the sections that year...it was either around the enrollment for the rest of the school (that was the time I bought her uniforms) or in June na during the new students' parents' orientation.  Maybe after you pay the reservation you can write a letter requesting for a slot in the PM session.

But being in the AM session is ok din. At least they get trained since all grade 1 is in AM session only. We live in Libis area and usually we leave the house around 650-7am. She gets in the school in time for class (740 am).

^ Lucky for you sis hunny hindi ba kayo nattraffic. During the time kasi when she was scheduled for the exam. We left home around 7 am and we reached Poveda at 9:30 am. imagine the time  spent for that nonsense traffic at edsa pero pag wala traffic isang derecho lang kame wala pang 15 mins nasa house na kami.. Kaya talaga worried ako.  Kaya sabi ko kung hinda siya malagay for pm  classes, then I would be able to go for another school na pinag exam an din nya. Glad to hear that from you. I just hope things fall into the right place. Anyway ang importante sakin is yung hindi siya stressed angd and siya tired sa byahe para may energy pa sya mag study at home. Ngayon kasi sa gymboree sya tatawid lang kami halos ng mall kaya lagi siya nasa mood. Sana kayanon nya pm classes kahit alam kong nap time niya yun.

hunny_ally, what's the uniform of kinder 2? And anong sched ng PM class? My daughter is in morning class in her school right now but my concern also is the traffic from our place going to Poveda. We live in Katipunan, not really far but grabe ang southbound every morning from our place. Gusto ko na rin siya sa am class pero ako naman din ang stressed since yaya & driver ako ng daughter ko.

SnowySofia: sis, just my opinion. If your daughter is going to kinder2 that means 1 year na lang she'll be in grade school na. i think this is already a preparation for her to adjust, so i think ok na rin na makapag adjust siya in the morning session. But of course, to each his own. Depends na rin naman sa priority mo. I wanted my daughter to go to Poveda or a montessori school because I don't want her to be stressed with a lot of homework like in traditional school. My son goes to a traditional exclusive school, and everyday they are bombarded with homework & quizzes for the next day. If i'll bring my daughter to a traditional school, hindi na rin kakayanin ng powers ko magturo sa kanilang dalawa.

WandaWits, they wear scrubs similar to the ones in Miriam CSC. May option whether dress type or blouse and pants. Comes in pink, blue, yellow and green. You can choose any type and color but you should have at least 1 blue set for Marian activities & mass. Sayang nga kasi by grade 1 they'll wear their "goldilocks" uniform (that's how I tease my daughter).  Then you have PE uniform. I'm not sure if they have Club shirts na din for this year. Last year kasi, they have an assigned color depending on the club and you can wear any shirt. This year you have to buy the shirt with the logo from the school.

PM class ata is 1230 to 3PM. Unless they changed the schedule this year.

Yes, I agree that they are not stressed. Bihira ang assignments (but they have Individual Work that they need to accomplish in school). Approach really is for them to understand the concept vis a vis memorizing stuff. I just feel at times she needs to get into the habit of "studying" so I try to go through their session plan at least an hour a day. Training na din when they have their term end exams.

May open house ba ang Poveda mga sis? My daughter is already enrolled for this coming sy but nun sa orientation  last december wala yata nabanggit na open house. Well kind of excited to see my daughter's uniform for kinder 2.

^i think there's a special class for new students. Usually first week of June. Not sure if they still do that but my daughter did when she first entered the school

poveda is really our first choice sana for our daughter but we live in better living, paranaque. i think it's not practical to send her to poveda simply because of the distance/travel time. parang kawawa. that's the only reason that's holding me back.

i'm curious lang. is there anyone here who lives in the south too (paranaque or alabang areas) who send their kids to poveda? kumusta naman? how long is your travel time usually?

My daughter will be going to Poveda this coming school year and parang there's so many questions in my mind. How does the school disseminate information or announcements?
Parang naninibago lang ako kase, sa school ng son ko parents are always updated since they announce thru FB and sms. Do I need to call the information every now & then na lang? I called up today to inquire about the books & uniform. The books daw will be available before school starts, then I asked how much ang uniform pinapatawag pa ako ulit to think that I was told before that selling  of books & uniform will be on May 5-9. Buti na lang pala tumawag muna ko kanina sa school coz I originally planned to go there today.

^they usually give out memos. Harder Lang to disseminate information during summer time. But throughout the year, it is ok. It will also be good if your daughter's parent class rep will start a viber group. Usually we post our queries there.  What grade is your daughter? Grades 1-below use a workbook and no books. For preschool, the scrubs/uniform is around php 500. The yellow uniform for upper grades is around php 1k for set.

Pretty happy with the enrollment this year. It's much more organized. Came there around 8am and I was home before 930. Though I didn't buy the books cause  I was with my toddler daughter. Babalikan ko na Lang but the line earlier was not long.

Poveda was a strong contender for schools for me but one of the execs at work pulled her daughter out coz she claimed her daughter wasn't learning anything.

What's the placement for Poveda grads to universities abroad like?

^i guess it all boils down to the school-student compatibility and one's expectation of the school. Same observation can also be made about any other school. Personally, I won't spend a php 100k+ a year if I see my daughter is not learning anything (same reason I guess with your colleague that's why she pulled out her kid). Admittedly, the school is a bit lax compared to other schools that you'd wonder if they really do something. they rarely have assignments/tests but they have individual work that they do in school. Nakakapanibago for someone like me who came from a school na bugbog ang students with homework. I even broached this up with a co-parent. We both agree that though our kids may be "stress-free" it doesn't mean they don't learn anything. I'd like to believe my daughter is at par with kids her age, if not above average (she reads better than her same aged cousin who goes to a different school. She has better math skills too). I guess like with any other school, follow-through at home is really important.

Thanks hunny_ally! My daughter will be in K2. I agree with you, it depends if the child will thrive in school. I enrolled her in Poveda because I believe she will thrive in a non-traditional way of learning. If she was not accepted there, I would enroll her again in a montessori school. I knew a parent who kept on ranting about our daughters' montessori school. Wala daw natutunan yung mga anak niya. I told her, maybe akala niya wala coz it's not a traditional school where they are bombarded w/ work & assignments everyday. My daughter when she was 4 yrs old can read very well. As a parent it's more important for me that my kids are not behind the kids their age. Ok lang kahit hindi sila on top as long as hindi sila nahuhuli. But of course, I would be really thankful if they do well.

I believe it's already ongoing. I submitted my daughter's application form early this month. They have the latest schedule uploaded in their official website, too.
