Finding a dress to wear for a special occasion can sometimes be a stressful task—what more when you're attending a Filipino-themed wedding (or office function) where you're advised to come in wearing a terno. Chances are, you don't readily have this traditional piece in your closet.

To make shopping a little easier, here are a couple of places where you can get a Filipiniana (and a barong!), from classic styles to modern designs that you can re-wear even on casual days:

1. Kultura

Locally, Kultura is one of the most widely-known stores to shop for terno and barong, especially since it's easily accessible through SM malls. The local brand includes both traditional and modern designs so you're sure to find lots of options here!

Invest in this Filipiniana that you can reuse a thousand times—just wear it with different trousers! For a semi-formal occasion, try pairing it with a dressy pair of cigarette pants, or if you're attending a more formal affair, team it up with a floor-length skirt (it comes with a matching skirt which you can get for P14,999.75).

TRY: Kultura Filipino Terno Top With Cutwork Embroidery, P7,499.75, available in Kultura Filipino stores

This sleeveless barong top for women in an ombre pink hue is too pretty. Team it up with white pants to let the dainty color of the top stand out.

TRY: Kultura Filipino Ombre Jusi Top P4,799.75, available only in Kultura Filipino's store in Makati

Kultura offers barong-style dresses too:

2. Tygie

Filipiniana's do not come cheap, so you might want to invest in something that you won't only wear once or twice. This Valenzuela-based clothing brand's Filipino-themed creations won't just look elegant for evening affair, but even on a regular day at work, too. The brand incorporates details of traditional Pinoy clothing like butterfly sleeves to casual, everyday pieces like boleros.

Here's a barong-inspired top made from cocoon fabric that you can wear with a long skirt for formal occasions, or a denim skirt for a classy office look:

If you're looking for something classic, this terno in an elegant champagne hue will hit the spot:

Browse and order their collection online or book an appointment at their Makati studio here(P.S. They dry clean the apparel before pick-up or delivery so you can cross that off the list of things you need to worry about.)

He's the Pinoy designer behind Catriona Gray's #PinoyPride OOTDs (including her striking national costumes!).
