article_fn-ukay.jpgA few days ago, the FN team set off to try our hands at ukay-ukay shopping. Nearly an hour-long drive from headquarters later, we found ourselves in the busy streets of Anonas, Quezon City, ready to get our hands dirty (literally!). According to managing editor Myra, Anson Square just off Anonas St. was the place to score clothes on the cheap.

After hiking up a few flights of stairs, we finally found ourselves in a long hall with row upon row of racks bursting with clothes. Our noses tingled at the bargains waiting to be discovered—and the dust mites in the air. Almost immediately, Myra, assistant fashion and beauty editor Pat, and editorial assistant Mars pounced on the racks, eager to uncover gems hidden among the plain and the questionable. Staff writer Jen took a little time to warm up, but her shopping instincts took over in the end. Photographer Mike headed straight to the men's section, only to come back defeated because of the abundance of oversized t-shirts.

An hour of rifling, fitting, and sneezing later, we lined up at the counter to pay for our finds. The damage? P130 for Myra, Jen, and Pat; and P120 for Mars! Want to know what we bought? Browse the gallery to see them, along with photos from our ukay ukay escapade.
