article_look-cute-stay-comfy-festival.jpgUnlike a dinner party or a hot date, festival fashion requires extra careful planning because of one annoying thing: the elements. You're going to be outdoors and under the sweltering sun for hours at an end. By the time your favorite band gets on stage, you're sweaty, grimy, and in desperate need of a cold shower. So much for that picture-perfect image of Kate Moss you had in mind!

Unless, of course, you heed the tips below. Follow them, and you'll look cute and stay comfy all weekend long.

1. DON'T WEAR AN OUTFIT YOU'RE NOT COMPLETELY COMFORTABLE WITH.
Crop tops and short shorts may be festival mainstays, but you don’t have to force yourself to wear them just because they’re the status quo. You don’t want to spend the whole day fidgeting with your shorts or pulling down your top!

2. OPT FOR BREATHABLE FABRICS.
You’re in the Philippines, so you will definitely sweat. Make the wise move of wearing clothing in lightweight fabrics like cotton and linen. Sleeveless tops, cutout dresses, flowing skirts, and palazzo pants are great options and allow fresh breeze in.

3. LEAVE THE HIGH-MAINTENANCE ACCESSORIES FOR ANOTHER TIME.
Dangling earrings that will get caught in your hair, heavy bangles that might cause accidents as you flail your arms in the air—jewelry like these are best left at home. Stick to simple friendship bracelets, cute and colourful studs, and delicate pendant necklaces. It’s also wise to leave anything expensive and fussy at home. That includes the designer bag you hate getting dirty!

4. CHOOSE YOUR FOOTWEAR WISELY.
Have you ever gone to a concert in heels? Not a good idea, right? Well, a music festival is just like a concert, amplified a thousand times over. Settle for boots, sneakers, and other flat shoes. And unless you want your precious feet trodden on, you may want to avoid open-toe footwear.

5. PULL BACK YOUR HAIR.
Combat sweat and hair sticking to the back of your neck by styling your tresses in a messy braid or an easy updo. If you really want to rock Alessandra Ambrosio-esque waves, at least have a few hair ties with you so you can easily pull everything back when the heat becomes unbearable.
