In case you missed it, KC Concepcion has just been launched as the first Filipina face for Shiseido Makeup. Shiseido, which has long been known for its impressive range of skincare products, has relaunched their makeup line in 2018, and this year has taken KC under their banner.

"KC personifies the Shiseido woman—a natural beauty who’s smart, confident, and not afraid to go after what she wants,” says Genevieve Yalung, General manager of Shiseido Philippines, in a release.

The circumstances of how she became the brand's ambassador was interesting: After trying to buy her lash curler only to find out that the store was closed, she posted on Instagram, "Hi, Shiseido. I’m talking about you, yep you had a private event—still love you."

"I posted about my night-out without fresh-looking eyes and it caught on," the celebrity shares. I was so shocked to see a whole makeup line from Shiseido. I got to try everything and couldn’t help but rave—and post—about the new makeup they’re coming out with." This started a relationship with Shiseido, and later on evolved into an endorsement.

On the day she was launched as an ambassadress, Shiseido also launched their newest products for base coverage, which aims to give you a flawless complexion:

Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing Foundation

P3,000

This lightweight foundation comes in 30 different shades and promises to last the whole day through sweat and humidity. It also contains SPF 30 to keep your skin protected form UV rays.

It's a cushiony concealer that promotes easy application and blending. It contains agar, clay, and copolymer gels not only to effectively even out your base and blur dark spots, it also keeps your skin hydrated while staying put for 24 hours.

You may not put stock on powders, but transluscent ones can actually complete your base and even finish your entire look. Shiseido has one radiant and two matte finishes, so you can pick the one that fits your style the most.

FN Tip: Keep this in your back for quick retouches to blot out oil and shine.

Synchro Skin Invisible Silk Pressed Powder

P2,850

Available in transluscent matte, this hard-working powder is completely colorless when applied, doesn't leave a white cast, is sweat-proof, and blurs out pores.

Shiseido made a couple of brushes available to the Philippine market:

Hanatsubaki Haki Polishing Face Brush

P2,700

This brush almost reminds you of a geisha's makeup brush, and it actually is inspired by the hanatsubaki, or the camella flower. It has four different petals that helps do away with streaking when applying foundation, and can also be used for powders.
