Actress Sunshine Cruz reflected on her career journey in an Facebook post dated March 1.
The 42-year-old actress-singer still couldn't believe that from starting out with bit roles, she now takes on high-caliber projects.
"I left showbiz year 2000 to focus sa binubuong family," she began. "I would have short appearances once in a while. Dapat yung guest lang or mamamatay kaagad ang role...but returned full time sa acting year 2013."
Another factor that affected Sunshine's showbiz career was the falling-out with her now-estranged husband Cesar Montano. As a single mother, Sunshine notes that the opportunities that come her way have helped her rear her daughters Angelina, Samantha, and Chesca.
"Thankfully, I was given another chance in showbiz since then," she continued. "I was able to provide for my little children (na ngayon ay malapit na akong abutan dahil ang lalaking bata!). Nakakatuwang isipin na kung kelan ako nagka edad, syang pasok ng maraming opportunities and blessings.
"Kaya lubos-lubos ang aking pasasalamat. I am forever grateful to those who trust me still.
"I promise to always be a better version of myself. Always thankful sa tiwala, pagmamahal at pagtanggap sa akin ng buong-buo. Hindi lahat ng artista nabibigyan ng another chance but thank God I got mine."
Currenly, Sunshine is busy with the ABS-CBN series Love Thy Woman, as well as with many out-of-town shows and endorsements.
