K-drama fans, we’ve got big news that will have you on your toes for the rest of the year! Song Joong Ki is reportedly being cast for a new K-drama titled Vincenzo. The Descendants of the Sun star is reportedly in talks to play the lead role, according to an industry representative. His agency, HiSTORY D&C also affirmed the probability: “Song Joong Ki is considering [the offer] to star in the new tvN drama Vincenzo.”

According to Soompi, Joong Ki is slated for the titular role, Vincenzo Cassano, a Korean adopted by an Italian family. He ends up becoming a lawyer and a Mafia consigliere. The drama tells the story of his moving back to Korea where he meets a female lawyer, Hong Cha Young.
Hong Cha Young, the show’s female lead, might be played by Jeon Yeo Bin, who is also in talks for the part. She is most known for her role in the 2018 movie After My Death, for which she won a Grand Bell Award for Best New Actress.
Soompi also reports that Vincenzo will be written by Park Jae Bum, who wrote The Good Manager (2017), and will be directed by Kim Hee Won, who was behind Money Flower (2017).

Song Joong Ki’s most recent dramas were Arthdal Chronicles (2019) and Descendants of the Sun (2016). He’ll be starring in the upcoming movie, Space Sweepers, Korea’s first-ever sci-fi film set in space, which will be released in autumn of this year.
