Two weeks after her name was involved in the alleged breakup of actor John Lloyd Cruz and actress Shaina Magdayao, TV host Ruffa Gutierrez talked about her past relationship with John Lloyd in an exclusive interview on Paparazzi Show Exposed, PEP.ph reports.

In a video tape recording aired before Ruffa's one-on-one with Mo Twister on November 6, it was revealed that she and John Lloyd were in a relationship in March 2009, but the two chose to keep it a secret.

Ruffa told Mo that this was because she wasn't the type of person who talked about her personal life. "And sa lahat ng aspeto naman siyempre, hindi kami ni John Lloyd bagay (And in all aspects, John Lloyd and I just weren't compatible)," she is quoted as saying on PEP.ph. "You know, let's face reality, it was something we were happy just keeping it to ourselves, and tama na yun para sa amin (and that was enough for us)."

Their romance had its typical down moments, but Ruffa said she accepted John Lloyd for who he was, and for the most part, the two of them had a good relationship. They broke up in February 2010.

When Mo asked her what caused them to part ways, Ruffa said, "Alam mo yung pagiging babaero niya, siguro second na lang yun, e. Pero let's first go to the problem na sinabi niya sa akin na, ayun, 'Hindi mo magugustuhan pag nakilala mo na ako,' and I said, 'Ano yun?' Then sinabi nga niya sa akin na, 'I drink a lot, hapon pa lang minsan umiinom na ako.' (You know, his being a womanizer is probably just secondary. But let's talk about the problem he told me about first. He said, 'You won't like this about me when you get to know me better,' and I said, 'What's that?' Then he told me, 'I drink a lot. Sometimes I already start drinking mid-afternoon.')

Ruffa said she was all right with this, but it started being a problem when he would sometimes fall asleep or have to be carried out of clubs when they went out.

As for dealing with other women in his life, Ruffa said, "Kasi para sa akin, if there's another girl, okay, I don't even wanna be with you anymore. I don't wanna force anyone who doesn't wanna be with me."
