Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez recently shared the stage with Sarah Geronimo and Lea Salonga, at the Popstar Princess's 10th anniversary concert, which was held at Araneta Coliseum on November 15 (Friday). But apparently, some people think that Regine stole the spotlight from Sarah herself, which the veteran singer vehemently denies.
“Siyempre, 'pag guest, e, guest nga, e. So, Lea and I are very grateful na binigyan kami ng chance na nagbigay-pugay siya sa amin... Hindi siya na-upstage. That’s her concert, that's her moment. Kumbaga, binigyan lang kami ng moment (Of course, if you're a guest, you're just a guest. So, Lea and I are very grateful that we were given a chance to share the stage with Sarah. She wasn't upstaged. That was her concert, that was her moment. We were only given a portion of that moment),” Regine was quoted by PEP.ph as saying.
The singer-actress also mentioned that she wasn't even bothered by a basher, who was supposedly a fan of Sarah. The said basher allegedly claimed on Twitter that Regine is no longer relevant.
“That was never an issue. There was never an issue sa fans niya. Isang fan lang 'yun. I answered one tweet lang ng isang... hindi ko alam kung fan or baka basher nga lang 'yun. Parang hindi nga daw, e. Parang hindi siya Popster [the moniker for Sarah's fans]. 'Yung mga Popsters, they know how much I love Sarah (That was never an issue. There was never an issue with her fans. It was just one fan. I answered one tweet, but I don't know if that user was actually a fan or a basher. Apaprently, that person is not a Popster. The Popsters know how much I love Sarah),” the Kapuso star clarified.
“I’ve said onstage that I’ll always be there whenever she [Sarah] needs me. Kahit hindi concert, I am always there for her. Parang ang turing ko sa kanya, anak ko na (I’ve said onstage that I’ll always be there whenever she needs me. Even if it's not onstage, I am always there for her. I treat her like my own daughter),” she added.
