Regine Velasquez has finally confirmed that she will renew her expired contract with GMA-7.This came amidst speculations that the longtime Kapuso artist will be following her husband, Ogie Alcasid, to TV5.

“Yeah, magre-renew na ako uli. Hindi pa lang ako pumipirma (Yeah, I’ll renew it soon. I just haven’t signed it yet),” she had said in an exclusive interview with PEP.ph.

Regine also revealed that she is set to sign a new two-year contract with the network like the one she signed before, but with a few renegotiations.

“Like now, nanay na ako. So, kailangan kong i-renegotiate 'yung mga things na kailangan kong gawin na medyo iku-consider ko 'yung pagiging mommy ko (Like now, I’m already a mom. So I have to renegotiate the things that I have to do while taking into consideration my role as a mommy),” she explained. “'Yun lang naman yun (That’s about it.). But otherwise, nothing major.”

Regine explained that she first needed to discuss a few things with the network’s management, but she didn't think about transferring to another station while she still has a contract with the Kapuso network. However, she did say that it might be possible for her to be a guest on Ogie’s future musical shows and concerts in TV5.

“GMA naman permits me, e,” she admitted. “Depende sa project. Magpapaalam lang (It depends on the project. I just have to ask for their permission.).”
