GMA-7’s Primetime Queen, Marian Rivera, was teary-eyed at the grand press conference for her upcoming epicserye, Amaya, PEP.ph reports, after hearing series director Mac Alejandre and Vice President for Drama Lilybeth Rasonable praise her dedication to her work. “Sobrang nagpapasalamat talaga ako na naa-appreciate talaga nila ako bilang ako, si Marian, at talagang eto na yun. Nakakaiyak at talagang nakakataba ng puso kasi ngayon ko lang 'to [Amaya] napanood. Kanina may napanood ako, pero itong MTV na 'to, ngayon ko lang napanood. So, na-touch talaga ako. Umiyak talaga ako (I’m so grateful that they appreciate me for who I am as Marian. It makes me want to cry and my heart swell because it’s my first time to watch Amaya. I was able to watch something beforehand, but not this MTV. So I was really touched. I really cried),” she is quoted as saying.
While Marian has snagged lead roles in several teleseryes in the past, PEP.ph reports that Amaya is special because this is the first time GMA-7 has referred to her as their Primetime Queen. Marian waves away the comment with a smile. “Naku, ayoko na diyan! Thank you na lang ako diyan. Salamat,” she is quoted as saying.
In exchange for the trust the network has given her, Marian vows to give her all despite the pressures that come with her new role, saying, “Kaya 'eto, galingan ko na. Alam ko na napakaraming mabibigat at mahihirap dito sa Amaya, pero still, wala namang instant. Lahat naman pinaghihirapan. Lahat naman may resultang maganda. (This is why I'm really going to do my best with this. I know that there are a lot of difficult things involved in Amaya, but nothing is instant anyway. You get everything through hard work. The results are always beautiful.)”
